Sound therapy helps restore the body's balance by clearing energy blockages, this therapy can be done with tuning forks, singing bowls, handpans and other instruments, inducing a deeply relaxing state. This is more effective with actual instruments because of their resonance. If you aren't interested in acquiring an instrument you can attend sound therapy, or sound healing concerts in yoga and holistic studios. It's totally worth it.

Crystals are another amazing way for spiritual cleansing, smoky quartz for instance is said to convert negative energy into positive, and black tourmaline acts as a shield against negative energy. Healing crystals are well known not only for their properties but as well for their beauty, these gems are often used in jewelry. Healing crystals can be placed at home, they are beautiful decor pieces too bringing nature inside or worn in jewelry pieces.

Mantras are also known as sacred sounds in Sanskrit therefore are different from an affirmation. Think of traditional mantras like "Om", one of the most famous Sanskrit mantras. "Om" is the sound of creation or universe. These are powerful for cleansing and have a positive outcome on spiritual and emotional well-being. A mantra should be repeated during meditation. I find it more efficacious when repeated out loud but it can be mental as well.

Affirmations can also be a great tool for spiritual cleansing by "rewriting" old or negative beliefs. Focus on your needs when selecting your affirmations and repeat them daily, preferentially in the morning.

Smudging is a ritual that intends to purify and cleanse spaces, providing an environment propitious for spiritual growth, healing, and protection. There are many different types of plants that are used for smudging, such as sage, lavender, rosemary, or palo santo. It can be burned in a bowl, on incense sticks, or on smudge sticks. And it can be done from time to time or when you feel it's needed. Discover more about smudging here.

Nature baths is another tool worth mentioning, spending long periods of time in nature is one of the most restorative and cleansing activities one can do. Immerse yourself in nature and pay attention to your senses, smells, sounds, etc, and be fully present. You can try a walking meditation or sit still and observe the surroundings.

Journaling is a powerful tool to clear negative energy, thoughts and to process difficult emotions. Best when practiced regularly but it doesn't need to be daily. Journaling is also very flexible in terms of writing, you can write what you feel like, use prompts aligned with your intentions, or it can be a gratitude journal.
